Meet the Teachers
Over the past 12 years at OVHS I have taught biology, AP Biology, chemistry, physical science, physics, fine arts, pottery, pre-algebra, Algebra 1, driver’s ed, health, and horticulture. I have also been a teaching partner with SVS Spanish through Kansas State University. In my free time I like to hike, climb, and ski. Most summers I have been able to travel internationally, usually to Latin America to surf and practice Spanish.
Bryan Mack was born in 1986 and moved to the Owens Valley in 1998. He received a degree in History from UCLA in 2008 and a Juris Doctorate from Loyola Law School in 2012. He loves living in the valley, playing and listening to music, and working with his students.
I received my Bachelor of Science, Education, with a Math emphasis from University of Nevada-Reno. I received my Master of Education, minor in Math from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2002. I taught for 11 years at Sparks High in Sparks, NV. The last two years I taught Math at Home Street Middle School. I have been married to Nate Gratz for 17 years and have a 6 ½ son, William. My family and I love being in the Eastern Sierras, enjoying the activities it has to offer. I am very excited to join the staff at OVUSD.
I hold credentials in elementary and secondary education and a Master of Arts Degree in Teaching with over twenty years of classroom experience mostly in the Eastern Sierra. To relax and keep fit I practice yoga, hike, cross-country ski, cycle, and read. My motto is: cooperate with others, compete only with yourself!
