Meet the Teachers
Gerrie Rodenburg – Transitional Kinder, Kindergarten, 1st Grade
Hi! My name is Gerrie Rodenburg. I have been teaching for 16 years – in Bakersfield, Independence, Lone Pine, Olancha, and Bridgeport. My family and I moved to Independence in 1991 – my children all attended Owens Valley School. I’m so excited to be teaching here at OV!
Allison Peeler – 2nd/3rd Grade
Allison has been living in the Eastern Sierra for the past 4 years. She is excited about the opportunity to share her environmental education skills with her 2nd/ 3rd grade students and she looks forward to a year of memorable learning moments. She is most interested in instilling a sense of responsible citizenship and enthusiasm for learning in her students. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, cooking and participating in local theatre.
Annie Blakey – 4th/5th Grade
Annie Blakey first discovered her passion for teaching in 2013 while working as an instructional aide in the Owens Valley. In 2017, she earned her multiple subject teaching credential and went on to teach 4th and 5th grade. Mrs. Blakey has worked with students of all ages from kindergarten through 12th grade–including those enrolled in special education and alternative education programs. She continues to work toward a Master of Education degree through National University. Mrs. Blakey lives in Bishop with her husband and two daughters.
